Here are some tips for those of you who are trying out the Wii and Wii Sports Golf.
Hole #1: Go ahead and give it a good swing, this hole is very forgiving on the drive. Leave your approach shot just short of the green so that it will get a good bounce.
Hole #2: Tricky hole. I would suggest hitting it short of the green again–it can take quite the hop.
Hole #3: Two strategies. One is to cut the dog leg a bit and cut the corner. Also, if you look to the far left, you will notice a patch of fairway. Hit it here with your drive and you have just a short approach shot left.
Hole #4: Leave it well short, going long spells disaster.
Hole #5: Try to cut the corner and you can get to the green in 2. Just make sure to hit your approach shot short–you will be hitting the shot with your driver.
Hole #6: Fairly easy hole. Drive as close to the stream as possible to reduce the length of your second shot.
Hole #7: Either go as far straight as possible and avoid the trees or try to shoot over the trees and hit the green in 1. The latter is an extremely tricky shot.
Hole #8: Wow, this hole is hard. Try to leave it short, but don’t leave it too short and end up in the water. Be extremely careful on this hole–a good score is a par.
Hole #9: Again, two choices: right or left. Right is safer, but leaves a long approach or a two-shot approach. Left is far more dangerous, but leaves a short, makeable approach to hit the green in two. Be careful with the green! Hit it a little closer than you normally would to try to conquer the two tiers.

I want to add a general tip that I have found to work pretty well. If you get stuck behind a tree (for example, on hole #7), take out your driver and hit a weak shot that runs the ball all the way to the green. It should work out most of the time and avoids the complication of hitting a tree and falling out of bounds.

Hold no. 7 I think is the toughest because where you leave your drive determines the difficulty of the approach. With some success I’ve found hitting a soft drive leaving your second shot just in front (or to the right) of the beginning of the trap leave you an opening between the tree where you can make a good swing with the iron. The trick here is contending with the various winds to drop it in the perfect place. I agree with you if you have a good wind at your back, then it’s best to drive the ball as far as you can so that you pass all the trees.
Hope this helps some.

Hole 7 is tough, but I think hole 8 is by far the hardest. The wind is always strong and it’s very difficult to get a birdie.
