“It’s only a video game system!”
Yes, but it’s so much more. It’s my opinion that video games are of equal, if not more, importance as movies or television in terms of entertainment value. The Nintendo Wii lets you do more than just button mashing–it lets you actually swing the remote like a golf club, look around as if it were your eyes, or roll a monkey around in a ball (MonkeyBall!!).
Now, I’m thinking of heading to WalMart on Saturday afternoon to start figuring out how to get one. I know that WalMart is having a midnight release, but I don’t want to wait forever. However, the Wii is going to sell like hotcakes. If anyone sees one, give me a call, pick it up, and I’ll reimburse you. Seriously. I want to have it for Thanksgiving so that I can get my whole family hooked on it. I want my parents to want one, I want Emily’s parents to want one. I want EVERYONE to want one.
You may laugh at me now, but I’m telling you, this thing is cool. It’s get-off-the-couch gaming. It’s fun, nonviolent, interesting, and you can do it with all your friends.
I will keep you up-to-date on my adventures of getting a Wii. Someday, I’m going to figure out how to make posts to the website from my phone, but not yet. Wish me luck!
