Simplifying My Electronics Life

The last few weeks, I have been simplifying my electronics life. What do I mean by that? Well, for one, did I really need 2 separate analog to digital converters? No. In fact, do I really need one at all if the only reason I have it is to support a non-mac-compatible camcorder? Absolutely not. So what happened to the camcorder? That too hit eBay. I also sold some software that I no longer needed and a wireless a/v transmitter.  All of them were good products--I just didn't need them anymore. The last big question I had was: do I really need two different computers? I mean, is my life really so complicated that I need an 20" Intel iMac and a 12" Powerbook G4?  Well, the laptop is going to my parents as their travel notebook and the Intel iMac, well, that'll be up on eBay pretty soon. If you're interested in a relatively new and powerful iMac, let me know. So what's my new setup going to be like? Today I should be receiving my new 13" Unibody Macbook, which is just as powerful as my iMac was, but also as portable as my Powerbook. It'll hook up to my existing backup hard drive, Wacom tablet, midi keyboard, and keyboard/mouse. Eventually, I'll add a new USB-based digital camcorder and one of those new 24" inch LED Cinema Displays from Apple, which practically acts like a dock for the laptop. And the best thing about it all--it should all be paid for by selling off the rest of my stuff.
