Nike Boots by Wale
Disclaimer: This is a rap/R&B song. Any “review” that I write here is uninformed and probably wrong. Onto the review.
Sorry about the delay, but here’s the free iTunes single review for the week. “Nike Boots” is definitely a rap song (which would normally not appeal to me), but it’s not all bad. Around the :45 second mark, Wale gets to “pure rap.” I’m sure that’s not the right term, but I’m talking about the parts of rap songs when it’s just the artist rapping. No crappy samples, no annoying background vocals, just a good beat and pure rap. Right around the last minute, the song rises in intensity, providing a nice finish.
Quick question: Does Nike really make boots?
Guess it doesn’t matter too much…
