Today we checked out the new section of Acadia National Park on the Schoodic Point side. We hiked the Sun Dew Trail, which lasted about . 7 miles. There was a nice side path to an “ocean bench” and we stayed there for about 30 minutes, exploring the rocky terrain. It was a pretty fun hike!

Bar Harbor

Yesterday, Carline, Diddy, Emily and I went to Bar Harbor to do a little shopping and eating. Of course, we just had to stop at Ben & Bill’s for a little fudge and candy.

Golf Again!

Today, before my friends arrive for the weekend, my dad and I hit the links again. For the second time in a row, we both beat our previous scores (shooting 11 and 9 over par respectively). The nice thing is that there’s still room for improvement in the scores as we each missed some easy putts and shots.

After my dad got home from work, we decided that the weather was nice enough for 9 holes of golf. What a nice evening indeed! My dad set himself up for par on the first five holes and my score improved tremendously. As an added bonus, the sunset was truly spectacular.

Lynn and Troy

Lynn and Troy had to leave today, but it was great having them here and I was glad that I was home earlier than I expected to be. I hope they enjoyed their time here as much as we enjoyed their company.

Golfing

After Lynn and Troy left, my dad and I went out to play a round of golf at Grindstone, one of the oldest golf courses in the U.S. I didn’t play very well, but my dad did and we both enjoyed playing, the nice weather, and each other’s company.

We took full advantage of Lynn and Troy’s full day here by packing it full of fun stuff. After playing croquet, we went to Acadia National Park to see a beautiful exhibit of stone sculptures in-progress. After that, we went to Schoodic Point to check out the waves (see below). To top off the day, we had a great dinner at Fisherman’s (I love their Thai-style salmon).

In Maine

Well, I made the eight hour trip today and came home for the week before school starts. My Dad’s cousin Lynn and her son Troy are here and we were all treated to a very delicious lobster dinner. Here’s hoping the rest of the week will be as good as the first night!

Emily and I are in Boston this weekend, visiting with Katelyn and Jeff, our housemates from senior year. I’m loving Boston, as usual, and they have this fantastic apartment in Little Italy. It’s so great seeing them again and Emily and I hope to make it a regular activity.
