Unfortunately, the possibility of me returning to California for an internship with Disney has faded. While the job offer was a real possibility, the proposed salary and move wasn’t appealing enough. That being said, SUNY Albany’s public affairs program has accepted me for the Fall semester. I am quite excited about the possibility, but I am keeping my options open by attending some interviews for jobs on the East Coast.

Oh come on people, it’s McDonald’s! Still, it’s rather disturbing that McDonald’s has been hiding from its customers the fact that it uses wheat and milk byproducts to flavor its french fries. This is a huge problem for people with allergies. Not that anyone goes to the restaurant for high quality food. But the company should have known better.

Syracuse Comeback?

Not that Louisville was a tough team, but out win on Saturday night showed me that our team could play a full game. We didn’t give up and we kept fighting. We’re not guaranteed a birth in the tournament, but we’re getting there. Tomorrow night is West Virginia, Cinderella team last year, all-star team this year. Wish us luck!

…but tries to end another in the process. VP Dick Cheney accidentally shot one of his fellow quail hunters on Sunday, which was impressive because that means that he was actually moving around! Authorities think that Cheney may have thought that one of the quails was a terrorist, but got overzealous in his pursuit. “Shoot your fellow hunter or the terrorists win”…

A week ago or so, I got in a debate with my roommate over Google and the possibility of the federal government being able to look at your searches. Today, I ran into an article that mentioned the idea that the feds could look through your computer’s files if they get their hands on Google’s new “Desktop Search.” My question for everyone is, at what cost must security come at? If you let the government look through searches and computers, the theory is that they will be better informed on terrorist activities. I disagree with the idea that the government will be looking through everyone’s materials. They will briefly, but they will be looking for specific data. But a considerable counter-argument is that the government won’t even be able to find that specific data. I don’t think this is where the government should focus its information seeking.

Superbowl Score

Well, I was close. If the Seahawks had gone for a touchdown and the 2-point play, it would have been a 3-point spread. But instead, the Steelers won by 11. I don’t mind missing the spread when the team still wins. Good job Pittsburgh!

Superbowl Time!

So, I hope this will be a yearly event–my prediction of the final score in the Superbowl. I predict that the Steelers will win by a 3-point margin. I’ve made this prediction at 3:50pm EST and won’t change it. Let’s hope I’m right!

O.A.R. Concert

On Saturday night, Emily and I went to Rochester to visit Adam and Sujata for a concert at the Rochester Armory. We saw O.A.R. and Steven Kellogg and the Sixers. The Sixers were a great opening band and O.A.R. was as good as I thought they would be. It was a great concert! I just wish the concert venue was a bit better (too much smoke and the acoustics were only so-so).

Bowling

Carline invited us to go bowling with 10 of her friends last night. It was a blast! I’m still not very good at bowling (for the ten times I’ve gone in my life), but it was a lot of fun. Her friends were all really nice and I hope I get to do it again sometime soon!
